On August 26, 2026, a DEA temporary scheduling order published in the Federal Register took effect, placing mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15, and MGM-16 in Schedule I. Separately, the DEA has initiated a temporary scheduling process for 7-OH above a specified threshold. The HHS notice extended the public comment period on the proposed threshold through September 10, 2026. This deadline marks the end of the comment period, not a final decision on whether 7-OH above the proposed threshold will be temporarily placed in Schedule I.
